Notes:
This is the first recording of the complete chamber works by Pulitzer Prize winner Virgil Thomson on one album and includes three world premiere recordings. Encompassing a total of 63 tracks, it incorporates a wide variety of instrumental ensembles in addition to several solo works. The album fills a serious gap in recorded American music history and offers a more complete understanding of this important 20th century composer. With engaging performances by members of Monadnock Music, this release dramatically illustrates why Aaron Copland hailed Thomson as “the Father of American Music.”

"Un grande compositore americano, il cui estro creativo, viene giustamente celebrato da queste incisioni di nicchia e meno conosciute." (A great American composer, whose creative flair is rightly celebrated by these niche and lesser known recordings.) – Luciano Feliciani, Kathodik. Read the full review here.
